It is the year 2005, nearly 2006, and you do not have internet access in the rooms. In 2005, this is akin to saying to your guests, "Toilets? Of course we have toilets. They are down in the lobby, and you can use them any time you wish. Oh, and they will cost you 5 pounds per use. Cheers!"
Sincerely,

It's a Hilton disease. Just saw this on nabeepchen.com:
Plus, everyone I've spoken to says that the wireless doesnt work in the rooms, nor do the Ethernet cables. So they charge you $12 a day for a service that can only be used in the lobby. The little ad sitting in your room shows a guy relaxing on his bed, grinning, and playing with his laptop and cell phone. It says that this service is reliable and easy to use. Doesn't mention, thought, that you can't access it in your room. I spoke to IT at length about it, and they acted like it was something unusual, that it didn't work in my room.
Service and making customers happy is obviously not a Hilton priority. Maybe they could milk customers a little more with dime operated showers. Hey, I'm just trying to be helpful.
Karsten Schneider | November 10, 2005 9:04 AMThe internet access in luxury hotels is typically worse than discount or mainstream hotels. In addition, you have to pay exorbitant amounts for what comes free at more mainstream locations.

Did you not check in advance? or did you have no choice?
But really, although we're behind-hand over here, that really sucks a big one. I've got a cafe round the corner in the unfashionable 'burbs that's got free wifi. And an unassuming hotel I stayed in in Edinburgh had it too.
Yes, that really sucks.
