Hmmmmm. I am betting Eliot would be anti-blogging. Though as a hugely watched politician, he cannot mutter under his breath without someone quoting him.
ez | March 9, 2006 9:34 PMoriginally "Never write if you can speak; never speak if you can nod; never nod if you can wink."
Long attributed to Boston political force Martin Lomasney, who would certainly have avoided e-mail at all costs.
I agre 100% to "And never put anything in email" :-)

A friend and I tried to start the Millhopper Institute. The idea was to encourage communication among individuals with disparate points of view. You know, like invite the Young Democrats to talk civil to the Young Republicans. Recognize their humanity and all that. I thought it would work at first. Encouage the Shiites to talk to the Sunni. We are all in this together. Perhaps we recognize that ideas are life and death but decide that people are deeper than the differences betweeen them. I know there is some good in here somewhere. My friend and I have disparate points of view but we all see the sun going down and the eyes in our head see the world spinning round. Oh well?
With regards,
