White people less intelligent when surrounded by other white people

The title was deliberately provocative. :-) Research from Tufts University says that white people are more intelligent when surrounded by a racially diverse group, on juries.

Surprisingly, this difference was primarily due to significant changes in white behavior. Whites on diverse juries cited more case facts, made fewer mistakes in recalling facts and evidence, and pointed out missing evidence more frequently than did those on all-white juries. They were also more amenable to discussing racism when in diverse groups.

It begs the relevant followup question - how many non-white people help to run FlickR?

In general, how many non-white people are involved in architecting Yahoo's social net developments and what are the implications for their future appeal to non-whites on Yahoo! properties?

By non-whites (from the UK perspective), I take it we mean people who live in tight-knit family, friend or other circles and who practice vehemently, cultural routines which are central to their lives? I take it that means people that take effort to talk to, that won't sit around in fancy sushi bars for idle, deliberate banter? (For some reason, the first line of "Howl" by Allen Ginberg comes to mind).

I'm a British Asian. I really don't know how American non-whites correspond to me. What class are you Caterina if you were a subject on this survey?

I'm an American Asian, and am co-founder of Flickr. We're all beige on the team. Some of us have eaten sushi, but I assure you we all engage in strange, foreign and idiosyncratic cultural practices when out of sight of weird glassy-eyed pale people and amongst our own families. I suspect the multi-hued people at Yahoo determining the future of the online social arena are similarly vehement.

I know the first statement well, it wasn't a credentials request! How coarse a granularity one's skin colour has is laughable, and perhaps posting a comment on this topic was futile.

To paraphrase a segment, why are "pale, glassy-eyed people" ... "wierd"? Raise the game by assuming less. I'm a dapple softer and deeper than you imagine. Though you've read a lot, and I'm positive and cheerful, giving you the benefit.

Thanks for answering me and good luck. I look forward to a new, lush and helpful discussion. No trolling intended :-)
