The evergreen subject of the male/female ratio at conferences has come up again. I've talked a lot about this in the past and don't think I have anything new to add, but here's something I wrote up in 2004, How to Get Out of the Audience and Onto the Stage on Misbehaving.net, with advice for women on how to get into public speaking.

Great article -- do you mind if I link it up on Make Me A Speaker! (www.makemeaspeaker.com) at all?

Caterina | March 1, 2007 8:39 AMThanks! I've added it to the advice section. If you feel like getting involved in mentoring aspiring speakers, please do pop over and add your name to the wiki: www.makemeaspeaker.com

Great advice in the Misbehaving.net piece! Thanks for sharing it again. It's only a shame that it's 3 years later and the debate continues on. Although I must say, I adored Anil's post!
