I sent this wonderful post to my brother, who (he being a scholarly academic type) pointed out it's actually from Dinah Mulock Craik. But he was just showing off, so I would ignore him if I were you :)

I just looked it up and some sources say that your brother is right. It's beautiful, though, I'm going to send it to someone I love today.
