Moral Courage

Larry Lessig on Moral Courage, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

Integrity, moral courage, principles -- Lessig points out that on the major issues the two candidates are virtually indistinguishable, but makes a strong case for Obama's courage to take unpopular positions, and stand by what he believes in, irrespective of the political consequences of those positions, and Hillary Clinton's "Rovean" mistruths attempting to undermine Obama's credibility.

I become inflamed about the subjects of integrity and moral courage -- there is so little of it in the world, not to mention in politics. Thank you Larry, for this.

I actually admire Hillary's courage. I don't think I'd have the courage to have been what she's been through and continue the way she has. Barak is a progressive who's 'belief' votes are popular among other progressives; he's never had anything to loose by opposing the bush administration. He also voted 'present' instead of in favor of controversal legislation, like abortion. Presumably, because he knew an 'in favor' vote would be used against him and didn't have the courage to vote with his beliefs.

Hillary looks bad to people who know her.

Obama looks good to people who don't know him.

They are both statist socialists. Neither one is a JFK or FDR. Those Democrats are dead and their kind is not coming back.

The basis of the word Integrity is Integer. An integer is whole; complete.

Moral integrity? What is it based on, something you made up or heard that feels right?

That is self-righteousness and is the most dangerous thing there is.
