Thanks for posting the clip! I love RodGab and am so psyched they're "HUGE". - And, yes, I know the "shiver[s]" too.
Kaiserin | September 9, 2008 8:58 AMI love them too. I am really fascinated by the wide range of their fan base.
Joe Grohens | October 7, 2008 7:24 PMi love that clip & particularly that one song, but i gotta wonder if it (the song) gets old for them after awhile...
my wife used to tour with the nevilles, and for a short period i hung out backstage with the band when they toured down the california coast & other locations. i REALLY love their music, but after only a few gigs, i must admit i got a little tired of 1-2 songs in the regular set.
then i realized the Nevilles had been playing together for ~30+ years, and did ~100 concerts a year. i have no idea how someone wouldn't get tired playing the same shit every week for 30 years... even if it's Aiko Aiko or Fiyo on the Bayou.
performer-listener frequency asymmetry is a tough issue, especially with hit singles.

They've lived in Dublin on and off over the past decade; I was lucky to see them busking on the street in 1999, just after they'd first moved here. I wasn't long in the city myself - a naive teenage country mouse - and can still remember the shiver in my spine when I heard them play. Now, they sell out some of the biggest venues in town.
